My son loves Boss Monster. We play it nearly daily. I figured he'd get a kick out of this. Plus, it comes with a handful of exclusive new cards.First, the box. It looks cool, but it's cardboard and it doesn't really stay together as well as I'd hope. In other words, you can file the cards, but the slightest movement will expand the dividing length of cardboard just enough to make your carefully organized stacks (spells, items, epic heroes, etc.) collapse. Still, it's good to have a central place to keep your cards. But the exclusive cards. Oh, the exclusive cards. With a retro Game Boy-themed aesthetic, the new cards are "Portable," meaning that once they're built, you can put one back into your hand during the build phase. This creates a whole bunch of tactical possibilities, as some cards, like the War Turtle, let you draw a room card every time you build them. Another, inspired by the Wall Master enemy from The Legend of Zelda, lets you put the card back in your hand to send any hero in that room back to town. Additionally, these cards let you cover up a room with a "When this room is uncovered . . . " bonus, like the Sorcerobe School, which lets you draw a spell whenever it is uncovered. Combined with some of the Explorer items and abilities in the Crash Landing and Implements of Destruction set . . . well, you can see how this expands the game. The new boss is cool, too: he turns every card in your hand portable.Buy for the new cards alone. The box is like a bonus.I love this box. I have both the 1st and 2nd game with the Tools of Hero kind expansion pack. They all fit in 1 side of the box. With room for more cards in the same side. Plus there's a whole other side for more cards. I had a fear that the picture above with the yellow block on the box is actually a sticker on the plastic wrapping. It doesn't hurt the actual product thankfully. ^.^ I was also worried the pictures on the box was gonna be the same on each side. And thankfully it's all different on each side! :-) The size of the carrying case is the size of a old lunch box. The cards all seem fun too. Please note this item doesn't come with the core game. Only comes with limited released cards to add to your own games. The Cards have a yellow-greenish tint in the picture box. In case you were thinking poor quality. It's on purpose. It's to look like an old game boy screen. (I had to explain to my friends & then they got it ;-) ) The dividers that come with the carrying case actually are really nice! (shown in pictures) I didn't expect that. But they have printed labels with images from the game to allow you to separate your Bosses from your Room Deck, Spell Deck, Items, Heroes, Epic Heroes and 2 extra dividers with blank labels for you to use as you want. And there's plenty of room for you to add game pieces or tokens. (I have a small plastic storage box I keep dice in to track card damage bonuses.) Also the inside are thick folded cardboard to hide the handle sliding from scrapping your cards and to increase protection strength. In Summary, I feel this purchase was a perfect way to expand my collection and show it off in style.I recently acquired the game "Boss Monster" from a friend. I like to sleeve up and organize my games, however, the original game box doesnt really work well for sleeved cards and for organizing them. The Boss Monster Collector Box is the way to go if you have this game. It has plenty of storage space. I own everything available for the game except for Boss Monster 2, and it all fits on a single side of the collector box, and thats with sleeved cards and the supplied card dividers. The card dividers are made out of cardboard, and have colored images on both sides. They work well, and really help you keep your cards organized by type. This makes for a quick setup, and when you put the game away based on card category, its very easy to jump into a game next time.I like the "lunchbox" styling used here. I also have room for a set of dice (one of the expansions requires counters on cards) as well as the instructions, and about 1/2 of the box is still empty for further expansions and such.I highly recommend this product as a useful alternative to the original boxes. It does what its supposed to, holds the cards. I have the base game and all expansions and it fits them all with extra space. However, it does not fit the instruction box properly no matter which way you try and put them. I ended up keeping the base box and putting all the intructions and inserts in that box. I guess its not a big deal considering i've played it so much and know the rules by heart, but as a tabletop enthusiest i perfer to have everything organized in one box. Additionally, it is very cheaply made, especially comparing it to the Cards Against Humanity "Bigger Blacker Box" which is appoximately the same price as this box. The Bigger Blacker Box is strudy and thick with perfectly sized compartments. The Boss Monster collectors box is just cardboard that folds into itself. The slightest movement makes the conpartments shifts and all the cards you just organized comes collapsing down on eachother. All in all, cool concept but executed poorly. I would say this would be totally worth it if it were around $5-$7 but considering its almost $15, not really worth it.Pros:- Holds every single card; there's actually more empty space than not. Maybe I should sleeve the cards.- Comes with dividers for every type of card, plus extras for whatever. Useful for separating out cards you don't want to always play with.- Comes with exclusive boss and room cards with "Portable" keyword.Cons:- Construction is somewhat flimsy for the price.- Could use one or two more dividers, perhaps.- Unless you have tons of duplicates, has more space than really necessary, causing the cards to shift around.Overall:If you're a fan and you frequently take your cards places, the choice is obvious, given the new cards included.Personally I'd say it's pricy however if you do look around these types of products are somewhat similar in cost.If you expected a game from this product you'll be disappointed as it's a collectable accessory to house your game cards, however it does this as expected and looks pretty good. It's made of cardboard so will not be as hard wearing as you might like, especially if you travel around with it, perhaps a hard plastic would've been better but overall it's a great product, the artwork is of a high quality and there's very little to be disappointed about. My brother asked for these and is happyMe fascinó la caja. Nice box, it's beautiful, but it's fragile. I would have expected something stronger for the price though. Be careful with it, it's fragile. That being said, it looks good and the add-on cards are pretty sweet.
