Included with the PS 4 game are two free add on packs, the ripper and the Road Warrior pack. This game reminds me of a couple of my games that I previously use to play, the Far Cry and Borderlands series, in terms of gameplay and style and seems to combine some of those elements with some things from Batman, GTA and Fallout, although unlike Fallout, there is very little interaction with NPC characters other than getting missions from them.I like the game but there are some things that are a bit annoying at times. Even after updating to the latest patch, there are still some video glitches that occur from time to time and the camera view gets lost sometimes, which can be a pain when you are in the middle of a fight and you can’t see what is going on around you. There are also occasional locations that have spots that you can get stuck and cannot get out unless you fast travel or restart. One annoyance with that though is when it happened in the middle of a storm, where fast travel is not available. So, I had to either wait out the storm (which I did) until I could fast travel or restart. The controls took me a bit of time getting used to. To me, the car controls, especially with the car battles feels a bit clunky and cumbersome to me. Sometimes the game has issues with aiming with the harpoon and just doesn’t activate for some reason. The car fighting is fun though, especially after the upgrades are added.Although it is no fun to die in the game, the death sequence is a bit disappointing as it doesn’t really show you dying but instead a skull graphic simply saying you died. I would expected a bit more graphic death than just that.Missions can get pretty repetitive, especially the side missions which are, basically, tearing down scarecrows, destroying convoys for hood ornaments, looking for scrap and other items, defusing mines, races and taking over the camps. The camp attacks are fun but there isn’t a whole lot of variation to the camp maps or the scrap locations. The races are ok but limited as well in terms of variety. On the plus side, though, there is plenty to do in the different areas.I wish the climbing mechanics were a little smoother as to climb a ladder you have to hold a button which is sometimes uses for other things leading to accidently dropping something when you mean to climb. Also, trying to climb some areas is a bit frustrating as well as there are areas that look climbable or at least should be but aren’t. This game tries to mark those climbable areas to make them at least noticeable but some are done better than others.Even with some of its annoyances, there is a lot to like as well and I like this game. The graphics are good for the most part (aside from some of the sameness in the camp/scrap location designs) with good details in the desert landscape. I like that the map gives you option to see some details of the areas with the balloon rides so that I don’t have to spend all my time wandering around trying to find different discoverable locations. It doesn’t show everything so it leaves you to discover some things on your own as well. I haven’t had any video framerate slowdowns yet.The cut scenes are cool except that you can’t skip them. Seeing Max fill up his canteen with water or car with gas is cool the first 10 times but quickly grows old when you are forced to watch over and over. The Hunchback is an amusing background character with some of his quotes along with his ability to fix your car and make upgrades for you. I found the dog to be less helpful as so far, I have found him only useful for mine hunting and this is more burdensome as you have to get the Chumbuggy to use him for that purpose. One small irritant to that is if you fast travel to another location, it automatically changes your car back to Max’s. One additional small glitch is that the upgrades sometime switch back to the previous selections when you change cars.It is fun to add upgrades to Max and your car though and there are a lot of different cars to drive and make part of your collection. Each one drives a bit differently. The fighting is ok and can be challenging but once you figure out the pattern and how to parry, it is relatively easy to defeat most sand dwellers. Now, I waited until this was less than 20 bucks but I found it worth that price and a fun game to play. If you like any of the games I mentioned above, then you most likely will like this one.Update: April 27, 2017: I wanted to add a final update now that I have finished the game. I still enjoyed playing the game through, although the side missions were extremely repetitive and pretty basic. I really wish they had some more extensive stories to the side missions other than a simple conversation and either get some loot or do some simple task. The fighting was fun but to me (and I am not a hard-core gamer) relatively simple and easy to figure out on the normal difficulty level. The bosses all attack the same way and was just a matter of roll out of the way, punch 4 or 5 times and repeat until finished, leading to a lack of challenge to even the final bosses. The main quest is relatively short but I found the story very good although it has a bit of a dark ending. I will argue though that the ending was pretty appropriate to Mad Max.There are some addition annoyances such as how it indicates you have 100 percent of something, only to be missing 2 or three items (such as the hood ornaments) or the missing camps in your percentage, even though you have conquered them all only to find out that just because you didn’t pick up a scrap or destroy an insignia, it doesn’t count the camp, leading to a frustrating scan over the map to find out which one. It is also surprisingly easy to max out “Max” with his abilities early on, leaving no reason to worry about Griffa tokens later in the game. Griffa essentially disappears after this, which is too bad as he was a very compelling, mysterious character that could have played a larger role in the game. I really wish they had done more with the tokens over the course of the game. The random storms were initially beneficial for collecting large amounts of scrap but less so after you have built up the car a bit and they became more annoying in their frequency and duration as they sometimes come up in the middle of a mission or a death race, forcing you to just wait it out. Even with my final gripes, I still liked the game and found it fun to play. Maybe not the best in this genre but for less than 20 bucks, it is worth playing.4 starsThis game is great so far, controls took me a little bit to get use to but the overall game is great. Correlates with the movie which is awesome, cars and characters are spot on for a apocalyptic mad max game. I would definitely buy this if your a Mad Max fan, the game map is massive compared to other games which makes it more life like I’d say.I can't believe Star Wars is selling for the same price as this, after playing both I can tell you this far outpaces Star Wars in every way possible. I mean seriously, Star Wars has as less content then just one of the 19 different territories in Mad Max; and no story what so ever!.. I'm a story mode gamer, just doesn't feel right without it.The map is huge, free roaming is amazing fun, the STORY MISSIONS are incredibly well thought out - in my opinion a better story than all 4 MAD MAX movies combined. This is the first time I actually felt emotionally attached to a game character, most games you know its not real so you don't get attached, this one felt different (at least in the denouement of the game). BTW, its better if you watch the movies first, the story doesn't quite line up but you'll appreciate all the fine details even more. I like to think of this as a prequel to the new MAD MAX movie, makes the most sense though MAD MAX traditionally doesn't have linearity between stories.Pros:- Huge Map, in the end of the game you can drive from one end to the other and it takes quite a while, longer than a full loop in GTAV.- Full of detail, each territory feels different for different reasons. From sea floor ship wrecks to collapsed highway bridges to Gastown itself its quite amazing.- Interactive free mode, war party attacks, sand storms, loot locations, and more.- Well thought out story, one of the best in gaming.- So many details/Easter eggs brought in from the movies, if you are a fan of the MAD MAX movies you'll love this game.- So many missions and things to do it will keep you busy for a LONG time.- Almost everything you do is saved, I can destroy a vehicle in the first mission of the game and the scrap it drops is still in the same spot after completing the final mission. Incredible!Cons:- There are some bugs, on PS4 I get low frame rates and mismatched audio (only on occasion though)... personally I think this is more a PS4 issue then an issue with the game. A well built PC could probably run the game without issue. Unlike most games, there was never an issue/bug that prevented me from completing a task. I've played some games where you need to re-render the whole area to continue, this game just kept chugging even in the most intense rendering conditions.- Some wasteland missions can only be played at certain points of the game, some have impacts on the finale... without ruining anything, all I can say is do the Wasteland missions first. Also, its worth it to complete each section of the game before going to Gastown, each section gets you upgrades and you'll be glad you had them instead of just blowing though the story mode as fast as possible.- I personally thought the game didn't properly prepare me for the climax of the game, it was different than every other mission in the game, not a big deal just took me like 20 tries while all other missions took me 2 at most. I guess its better than having an easy ending.- Subjective, this game took me 4 full days to complete (I like to be thorough), that's a big chunk of your life depending on how much time you have to spare to video games, it may turn off some players. I know some games you can do an all-nighter and finish, this would be hard to do in 3 all-nighters, maybe 2 if you skip the side missionsAdded bonus - there's less rape in the game then in the movies, like there's really only one mention of such thing while in the three original MAD MAX movies they practically show rape scenes... at least in the 2nd movie they come as close as you can without being a full on porno.... just a thought, I did a MAD MAX movie marathon after finishing the game :P ... come to think of it I don't think there was any nudity in the game at all, not sure if that's a pro or a con....just stick to the gruesome killing.O jogo não funcionou, descaso total,o vendedor me mandou uma mensagem dizendo que o jogo foi testado, quando disse a ele que iria enviar as evidências de que o jogo não funcionou não respondeu mais, estou até agora aguardando pelo menos ele me dar uma satisfação.-Un juegazo lo empece a jugar solo para ver como era y después de un muy buen rato de juego lo pude terminar si haces todo lo del juego como las mejoras y todo eso se hace mas y mas tiempo-Un juego que se basa en una película y es demasiado bueno la historia no se ni como describirla es muy buena-Jugabilidad muy buena y fluida-Por el precio de 275 es una muy buena opción-Traía unos códigos de unas modificaciones lo cual me gustoEl juego tardo un poco ser enviado (5 días),ya una vez enviado vía DHL tardo dos días en llegar lo cual es más que sorprende además de venir bien protegido afortunadamente ya anteriores ocasiones con UPS los discos venían fuera de lugar.
