Description

Give Chicken! a roll with Blue the Dog, Mother Hen, and that Seed Bag. Blue can bark away foxes helping you push your luck on those risky rolls. Mother Hen adds baby chicks to the mix growing the dice pool awfully fast. The Seed Bag mixes up the dice pool so that when you hatch dice, you can pull from the coop or go for a mystery die in the bag.

The Chicken! Eggspansion adds two dice and a cloth bag, along with rules that add some tactics to your game play. The mother hen die adds chicks, which count as both an egg and a chicken, but you only get the points if you count your chickens immediately; if you roll again you have to re-roll the mother hen as well so you don't get to keep the point. The Ol' Blue die has two new faces, the dog Blue, which scores an extra point if you count your chickens, but has to be re-rolled if you keep going, and BARK, which negates the presence of one fox so it takes 4 foxes to go bust. The feed bag adds a new tactical twist to the game. You start with the 4 white dice as usual, but all the other dice are placed into the bag. You give it a shake, then draw 4 dice and place them in the coop. Then, whenever you hatch an egg, you can choose any of the dice in the coop or take your chances with drawing from the bag. If it's your first roll, you'll probably want to pick a die that increases your chances of scoring points. If it's your last roll, you'll probably want to pick dice with better odds of rolling a fox.Unlike a lot of expansion sets that are hard to separate from the original game once it's mixed in, this one makes it easy to switch back to the original game: just set aside the extra dice and the bag. For new players, I recommend sticking to the original version for a few games, just to learn the rules and the mechanics of the game. Then introduce the expansion, which increases the replayability of the game.
